ATHLETE - WEEK INTENSIVE
With Benefits of My Come-to-You Intensives

A professional man, who is also a serious sprinter, flew me to his city, put me up in a hotel around the corner from his apartment, took me almost daily to the health food stores to get juices, raw fruits and vegetables, and I did 4-hrs bodywork for him, 6 days in a row.
Some people put me up in a spare bedroom; I have character references.  And I want you to save money and feel the most comfortable.  One person so far has gotten me a rental car and for convenience and support, I did the health food shopping for both of us before coming over.

If you are considering hands-on (or buying self-help), I will communicate with you often & in-depth so you feel as comfortable with me as you do with the idea of treatment.

Convenience Mini-Trip
One Day (4-5 hrs) - or -  2-Day Overnight Fly or Drive in (8-10 hrs)
4 hrs hands-on Bodywork, 1 hr Stretching type of Bodywork per day,
& up to 4-hrs Netherton-Reichian Release Processing per day,
Plus Free Raw Food & Herb info and Q & A

SUMMARY
:    See Full Report Below

Lou came to me on a travel trip, stayed for a week, and worked on me for 25 hours.  We combined Structural Stretching with the hands-on for deeper and more thorough results than the hands-on would have done by itself.   The results of each day's 3-4 hour session were exceptional.  My Body changed significantly each time.  I liked what the session did and the next day, as more of my structure was improved, I was genuinely surprised at how much improvement that next session did as well.

Even 1-1/2 years later, my body has still stayed open and looser and all the other treatments I do work better, and do more, and, they also last longer.

I found Lou's Website because I was looking for Structural Integration how-to and there is very little available except for Lou's
Structural Integration Stretching Videos.  I used them and then I had Lou come and do the hands-on with me.  Since that time, Lou has created some hands-on how-to videos as well.

BENEFITS OF MY COME-TO-YOU INTENSIVES

Scroll a screen or Jump Down to his testimonial report

Note:  Typically, Structural Integration Bodywork is done one session of 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hrs each week.  Some practitioners will do two a week.  (Which is what I encourage some people I consult with, who have a lot of tightness or an injury, to ask their local practitioner to do.)

With my special, relatively comfortable and even enjoyable technique, we can keep the body relaxing, and I can do 2, 3 or 4 hours a day, over 5 or 6 days in a week.  For this athlete, I did 4 hrs each night after he got home from his professional work.  People I've worked on didn't get sore when following my tissue building nutritional guidelines, coupled with my unique Structural Stretching, Fascial Lengthening method, that we combine with the hands-on.

My come-to-you intensives serve a few purposes.

First, you get a lot done, right away,
which is helpful for accomplish your loosening and improved performance, and your tightness caused pain removal, if you want improvements right away.  And if you are doing this for personal growth or significant trauma removal, the intensive is a more effective way to do it.

(In addition, I do single and multi-session trauma release sessions by phone, combined with the Structural Stretching, and you can get the hands-on from someone in your local area,
just a few hours at a time.  The stretching helps the hands-on and the hands-on enables the stretching to do more, easier.

Second, if there are no practitioners near you, then the convenience of having someone competent and knowledgeable right there is very helpful.  Even if there are practitioners in your city, getting 2, 3 and 4 hours at a time, without having to leave your home and travel 30-60 minutes for each 1-1/4 hour session is helpful.

Third, there are additional free services by having me dedicated to you.  We get to do a lot of Structural Stretching each day, and some Integrated Movement Practice, plus some nutritional education. with resources for excellent supplements by mail (and we can shop for food together or I'll get it for us).   We can make or get fresh vegetable juices that improve the speed, comfort and even effectiveness of the treatment.

I watch you move
, in person and on your films or videos, in description right in your home, at practice and performance.  And you get emotional trauma releasing as part of some sessions, too, if you wish.  This is wonderful for personal growth and helps people remove trauma they may have had in accidents and losses (even in athletics).  Intensives are often more effective than spread out sessions.

Further, I'm "there," and dedicated to you, so in case any trauma bubbles up or in the case of physical improvements, in case you do something in your workouts, etc, you don't have to wait to get to see someone.

Fourth, I'll work in conjunction with your other practitioners chiropractor, trainers, coaches, MD, physical therapist, yoga teacher and so forth, and explain to them what I am doing and why.  I'll even train them, or your spouse, how to do some of it.  If you and they prefer, I'll even work on you in their office.

Fifth, I'll help you find Structural Integrators in your local area whom you can have follow up sessions with, and I'll coordinate with them, explaining what I did and what is also needed.  We can also look into yoga classes, health food stores and so forth.

In addition, your spouse, kids, friends or parents can see what we are doing and also have some treatment, if you want, since I am there.

Some people put me up in a spare room of their house or apartment, others put me up nearby.

TESTIMONIAL REPORT

(Before I came, he was doing my Stretching Videos.)

Recently I've been working with some interesting video material on
fascial stretching techniques
developed by a structural integration
specialist named Lou Gross. If anyone is interested in adding some
fascial release techniques to their stretching routines I highly
recommend these tapes.

http://www.backfixbodywork.com/index.htm

The production quality is okay, but the content is good and they're
fairly well priced. Lou told me he might be doing an updated version
with more professional production quality.

I'm having Lou come into town hopefully this week to work on me for a
few days and clear up a lot of my remedial soft tissue problems. I'll
let you know how it goes.

He has quite a track record working with world class athletes, especially track athletes,
including two world record holders.
Hopefully I can get him to join the forum and share some of his insights.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Day One:  First 4-hrs. Well, I finally got Lou Gross into town yesterday after a short delay. He worked on me for four hours last night, and I have to say,
this guy is GOOD. Last night was just the beginning "superficial"
work, and already he's gotten a deeper release than anyone else I've
worked with.
My body no longer feels like it's wrapped tightly in
cellophane.

His technique is different from traditional Rolfers(r). He uses short
pulses rather than the long sustained strokes, so there's little, if
any, discomfort.
In an article years ago, Charles Poliquin described
Rolfing as being about as pleasurable as having your nostrils scraped
with a mentholated potato peeler. Trust me, that is not the case with
Lou.

If anyone is serious about clearing up their chronic soft tissue problems I highly recommend contacting Lou through his web site
that I listed in the first post, above. This is also the best time of the year to
do it, from a periodization point of view. Traditional massage won't
cut it for this purpose, and deep "massage" work just bruises the tissue,
which was one of the reasons one top athlete liked working with Lou; the
deep tissue massage just made him feel "beat up".

As I stated before, Lou has extensive experience working with track
athletes, and he's anxious to get his athlete practice going again after a recent hiatus.

I'll keep you posted on my progress over the next several days.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Day Two:  The Very Next day. 4 more hours.  The second treatment last night
was terrific. He really loosened up my adductors, which were a consistency
slightly softer than granite. The difference is dramatic, not only in the local release of tissue, but also up through the torso. Most importantly, the
releases are holding.

He also got deeper into the neck and axila of the shoulder joint,
which was slightly intense, but the results speak for themselves. My
shoulders are higher and wider, and move more freely from the rib
cage.

My psoas have released rather significantly, and he hasn't even done
any direct work on them.
It's all been indirect release from the legs
and torso. The calves and feet are considerably looser now, but
there's still a lot more to do. However, I can definitely say that my
gate and posture have improved dramatically
. My legs feel very light
when I walk, and because of the improved alignment, my force
application into the ground is much more efficient
, which creates a
sort of lifting feeling when I walk (greater reaction force from the
ground). I feel very light when I walk. I can't wait to apply it to
the track next week.

Lou also did quite a bit of fascial release in my face, which was
obviously pretty relaxing, but I could also feel the medial arches in
my feet releasing from the face work. Wild.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Day Three.  Again, 4 more hours the very next day.  Lou went much deeper
into my adductors last night, and they're starting to approach a consistency
somewhat close to human flesh.

I'm actually having to relearn how to walk. My gate and posture are
completely different now. With the adductors released, the psoas,
hamstrings, calves, quads and abdomen are much much looser.

And the walking motion seems to come more from my torso, just
under the chest, rather than the hip. Essentially, I walk with the
whole body.
I can't wait to try running.

He also went much deeper into the calves, especially along the inside
of the shin bone, which was the number one pain center for me. The
difference is pretty dramatic
, to put it mildly.

With the tension in the legs reduced, Lou was finally able to begin
releasing the scapulae, which I had been eagerly anticipating. The
rhomboids and rotator cuff have pretty thick fascial buildup, and the
difference after the release was extraordinary, especially as it
relates to head movement. And that was only the early superficial
work on the area.

The hamstrings, quads, and ITB also received some more direct work.
Each day he gets to a deeper layer.

I really can't stress enough how effective this work is. My body is literally being completely rebuilt.
I'm really not exaggerating that
much when I say that.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Day Four.  3 Hours after one day off when I worked on his friend for 5 hours.

Most of the work was on loosening the abs and beginning
direct work on the psoas. Trust me, rock hard abs are not something
you should strive for. It took Lou forever to work through the rectus
and other superficial muscles. Lengthening the abs really improved my
posture and improved my leg swing. Like I said in my previous post, I
now walk from the torso, and the additional ab work, especially the
psoas, has enhanced that effect.
An interesting effect from having
the abs and psoas freed and relaxed is that each stepping stride
causes a lifting sensation up through the torso and head.
My rib cage
and head float now.

Lou also did a lot of work on my shoulder area and dramatically freed
up the arms from the torso.
In particular, my humerus is no longer
glued to the scapula. He also freed up the scalenes, which further
freed the shoulders from the torso.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day Five. 4-hours the day after the 4th session.
I've had a total of 19 hours of work now. Today Lou really
got into the psoas, which enhanced all of the effects I've described
in the previous posts
. You really have to experience it to appreciate
the dramatic difference. My lower back has also released considerably
from the psoas release
.

He also got very deep into the hamstrings, hips and calves
(especially peroneals). He was able to get in and pull apart the
hamstring heads. The hamstrings are so loose now, I had to go through
another round of relearning how to walk. I can actually feel the
pelvic bones move when I walk.
And with the hamstrings looser, he
could loosen the adductors and psoas even more.

Now that I know what loose legs, hips and torso feel like, I'm trying
to figure out how I ever walked, let alone ran, before. I can sit in
a chair without feeling any pulling on the pelvis, and I can sit with
my back perfectly straight without fatigue or feeling pulled down.

This is hands down, the single best investment I've made in my body.  And it enhances the effects of everything else I do.

For example, when I stretch now, the tissue gives way and loosens very
easily without fighting me. And yesterday, I had a short chair massage, and
the therapist was able to really get in and work the tissue and make
a lasting difference, much greater than any massage work I've had to
this point.

For the tire kickers out there reading this, Lou will give you free stretching coaching over the phone. Call his voicemail and he'll get in touch with you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 6.  5 more hours for a total of 24.  I think, in this testimonial, he
combined results of the last 5 hours on the 5th day report.

I have also gone to people and done 15 hour visits and 30 hour visits.  I have worked on a couple, both athletic, 2 hours each a day, 22 hrs each total, over a Two Week time.  They put me up at their house.  And they had me work on their friends for a couple of weeks after that.  For another couple, I did Bodywork & Bodymind Therapies for one person and a little Bodywork for the other.
